INTRODUCTION
In the 21st century, the leading-edge science and technology is an imperative factor to a nation's competence and power.
Nanoscience and nanotechnology is a representative leading-edge science and technology, which manipulates, controls, and develops materials, devices, and systems in the nanometer-sized regime showing revolutionary physicochemical properties, unprecedented in the micro to visible world.
The nanoscience and nanotechnology of materials, in particular, is the field of developing fundamental materials for other branches of nano-related field. As a result, its significance is rising rapidly. The research of Nano-Materials Center focuses on the synthesis and surface modification of new nano-particulate materials and their hybridization and nano-structuring, which will lead to the development of innovative functional materials or device systems to be applied in the field of energy, environment, and biotechnology. The center currently consists of three active research teams: Nano-Particulate Materials Team, Nano-Electronic Materials Team, and Nano-Semiconductor Device Team.
